Q. Is Sevocity Certified for Meaningful Use for the ARRA/Stimulus EHR program?
A: Yes, Sevocity v11.3 is certified as a Complete EHR for 2011/2012/2013 (stage 1). Stage 2 and 3 requirements have not been published and certification is not yet available for those stages/future years. The Sevocity customer agreement includes a provision that guarantees that Sevocity will meet all of the stage 2 and 3 requirements for the future years.
Q. Is Sevocity also CCHIT Certified?
A: Yes, Sevocity is CCHIT 2011 Certified with a 5 Star Usability Rating (the highest possible). Sevocity was also CCHIT 2007 and 2008 Certified. CCHIT did not have certification programs for 2009, 2010 or 2013. Click here for more information.
Q. How long has Sevocity/Conceptual MindWorks Inc. been in business?
A: Sevocity is a division of Conceptual MindWorks, Inc. (CMI). Sevocity has been in commercial use for 10 years. CMI has been in business over 22 years.
Q. What are Sevocity's service policies and guarantees?
A. We provide live customer support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for all customers at no additional charge. Our contract guarantees system availability and we have consistently exceeded those availability requirements. Sevocity's availability is constantly monitored by automated systems and personnel. The best industry standards are followed to ensure system availability, back-ups and redundancy. As a result, we consistently average system availability of over 99%.
Q. What interfaces are included with Sevocity? What is the charge for new interfaces?
A: Sevocity already has interfaces in place for most labs and practice management systems. We will also write new HL7 interfaces to any lab, practice management system, hospital or equipment as needed. The regular Start-up and Monthly Fees include 1 practice management/billing interface, 1 non-hospital lab interface, 1 state immunization registry, and 1 state HIE interface. Additional interfaces are quoted as requested.
Q. Does Sevocity have DICOM Conformance Statements?
A: Sevocity includes the ability to link from a patient's chart directly to a DICOM image stored in another system (images may also be stored directly in Sevocity). DICOM Conformance Statements are specification requirements for DICOM. Because Sevocity will write to the specifications of the equipment vendor, we do not publish our own DICOM specifications or "conformance statements".
Q. Where can I use Sevocity? Is there a limit to the number of PCs I can use with Sevocity?
A: Sevocity can be used anywhere you can access a high speed Internet connection (DSL or better). This includes use of wireless mobile cards for PCs available from most wireless carriers. Sevocity can be used on as many PCs as you want and there is no extra charge for the number of PCs or their location. Sevocity is very easy to set-up and use from home, the hospital or anywhere you need secure access to your charts.
Q. What if I lose my Internet connection while using Sevocity?
A: In the event you briefly lose your Internet connection the encounter you are currently working on is temporarily stored on your computer and will re-sync with your database when your Internet connection is restored. Many practices also subscribe with their cellular/wireless carrier for a wireless card for their laptop or tablet. These cards are excellent for an Internet back-up as they allow for Internet access anywhere cell phone coverage is available. Because of this, many practices use the service on an ongoing basis, enabling them to access Sevocity and the Internet from virtually anywhere.
Q. Are there third-party costs for modules or components bundled with Sevocity? Will I need to buy some third-party products independently to make Sevocity perform as demonstrated?
A: There are no 3rd party costs for Sevocity or any of its functionality. Sevocity bears the cost of all 3rd party components. The cost of using these features and data is included in the regular monthly fees.
Q. How is Sevocity implementation and training conducted? How long will it take until my practice is successfully up and running using Sevocity?
A: Implementation and training includes workflow analysis, hardware analysis, customizations and web training. We are able to take most customers live within 60 days of contracting. After go live the transition period depends upon the practice, personnel and the ramp-up method selected. However, most practices are fully using Sevocity within 90 days of implementation.
Q. What types of PCs does Sevocity work on and What PCs do you recommend?
A: Sevocity can be used on any PC with a processor speed of 1GHZ (or more) and a minimum of 512Megs of ram (1Gb recommended) running any Windows supported operating system or Macintosh OSX. Sevocity can be used on Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, Macs and the iPad*. We find that most providers prefer tablets for their handwriting recognition and point and click capabilities. Sevocity does not require a keyboard for use, making it perfect for tablet use. Sevocity does not recommend any particular brand of PCs or Tablets.
